An Open Air Concert at City of Derry Rugby Club on Saturday 14 June 2014 where Institute FC and City of City of Derry Rugby Club have come together to promote ‘COUNTRY COMES TO CITY’ and have kindly been in touch with the family of 5 year old Merryn Lacy to support her fight against Neuroblastoma which is a rare form of childhood cancer.

The Star of the Show Nathan Carter said he was very pleased to help in any way possible and City of Derry Rugby Club PRO Moss Dineen said 2000+ tickets have already been sold.

Tickets are on sale and are available from and City of Derry Rugby Cub.

Moss had originally met Merryn at a charity cycle from CDRFC to Dunfanaghy Golf Club in early May which was held to fundraise for her. He then decided to speak to Institute FC about using the concert to support her cause and they both agreed immediately.

Merryn is still undergoing treatment and her mum and dad, Jenny and Michael, hope she will be in remission by Christmas. They still have a long battle ahead of them but are determined to do everything they can for their special child. Even if Merryn goes into remission there is still a 70% chance of the cancer returning and to stop this happening they want to send her for specialist trials in the US.

Unfortunately there is a great cost for this treatment and they are currently fundraising at every opportunity.
